He himself convinced her to go back there, after visiting her in a dream. Single mother of six children, victim of a violent husband, after a life on the margins of a society unable to hide the legacies of its colonial past, Heloise dreams of returning to the lands of her ancestors, the ancient maroon slaves who once rebelled against their slave masters.
