Sein Lian Tun
During the 2021 coup d’état in Myanmar, Sein, a young Burmese filmmaker, decides to join the peaceful demonstrations of millions of Burmese for freedom. But his father tries to stop him. A former political prisoner, he no longer wants to have anything to do with the authorities, and this new crisis rekindles his fears. Forced to flee to Paris, Sein picks up his camera again. This film is an intimate portrait of his family, as seen through the eyes of an exiled filmmaker, between fear and guilt, past and present images, long-distance exchanges. Through these family ties, we see the political situation in Myanmar and a family’s unaltered hope for freedom.
